Death was the result of old age. The deceased was born in Luxemburg, Germany on March 3, 1833 and was married in that country to Elisabeth Goergen in 1868. The following year they moved to Paris, France, where the deceased was employed as painter in the railroad shops, and where he resided until 1876, with the exception of the time during the German-Franco war. In 1882 he immigrated to America, coming direct to Nicollet county and locating on a farm in Belgrade township, which has since been his home and where he has prospered and became endeared to the community. A widow and one son, Julius, are left to revere his memory. The funeral services were held from the Belgrade Catholic church Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock, Rev. J. C. Wagner of Nicollet officiating. The remains were interred in the church cemetery. May he rest in peace!
