FileFormatted by: Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Conrad Irrgang ========================================================================= From The Nicollet Leader, Saturday, March 22, 1919 issue Nicholas Dauffenbach, another one of the pioneer settlers of this county, died at the home of his son, Michael, in Belgrade township last Friday afternoon. His death was due to stomach trouble, with influenza as the contributory cause. The deceased was born in Luxemburg, Germany, March 17, 1831 and lived to the ripe old age of nearly 88 years. He came to this country when still a young man and made his home in New York for three years, and then for eight years was a resident of Chicago, coming to Nicollet county in 1867 and filed on a homestead in Belgrade township where he has resided ever since. His wife died about eight years ago. He is survived by two sons and one daughter: John, of North Mankato; Michael, on the home place in Belgrade and Mrs Susan Wagner of Marinetta, Wis. The funeral was held Monday morning from the Belgrade Catholic church, Rev M Moitzheim of Nicollet officiating. The interment was in the church cemetery.
