Rev Fr Hrachovsky of Nicollet, assisted by Rev George Galles of St Paul, conducted the mass. The pallbearers, six grand-children of the deceased, were: Harvey and Roy Patterson, Jay Wintheiser and Leo Koelfgen of Minneapolis, John Wintheiser, St Peter, and Joseph Schouviller of Nicollet. Interment was made in the church cemetery at Middle Lake. Mrs Koelfgen was born in Luxemburg in March, 1836 and was therefore 88 years of age at the time of her death. She came to America in 1856, settling in Belvue, Iowa. While here she was married to Mathias Koelfgen. A year later the young couple came to Nicollet county and purchased a farm in Granby township, where they lived until the Indian outbreak in 1862, when they moved to St Peter, returning to their farm five years later. Mr Koelfgen died in 1876, and from that time until 1889, when she retired, Mrs Koelfgen managed the farm with the help of her children. During the last eighteen years she made her home with her daughter, Mrs Nick Schouviller at Morgan. She is survived by eight children, 46 grandchildren, 94 great grandchildren. The children who are left to mourn are: Mrs Nic Schouviller of Morgan; Mrs Frank Patterson, Mrs Dave Wintheiser, John, Joseph, and Henry Koelfgen of Mineapolis; Nic Koelfgen of St Paul and Mrs Jos Wintheiser of St Peter. One daughter, Mrs Lizzie Lang of Waseca, preceded her in death. All the children were present at the funeral.
