A mystery as to what was the cause. Peter Miller, son of Mr and Mrs Fred Miller of Brighton, aged 23 years, departed this life on Friday evening, February 3rd. He came into town in the forenoon and spent the day here. Nick Jutz came down from Morgan on the 3:23 train and was going to go out home with Mr Miller. They left here about 4:30 o'clock and at the time Mr Miller was under the influence of ??? so that assistance was necessary to help him in the sleigh. Mr Jutz drove the team and when near W J Bean's place Mr Miller dumped over and NIck covered him up in the bottom of the box and drove due not paying any particular attention to him. When Mr Jutz reached Charles Sondags place he got out and asked Henry Sondag to drive the team home but knew nothing of the death. When the team was drove up home young Mr Miller's father asked whether he had a dead or live man and was much shocked by discovering that the young man was dead. The funeral was held at the Swan Lake Church on Monday last. He leaves a father, mother and one sister to mourn his loss. Whether his death came from heart failure or whether he froze to death will remain a mystery.
