Matt Schouveller died at his home in North Mankato last Friday night at the age of nearly 79 years. He was born in Sheboygan, WI April 27, 1868 and came to Nicollet when a child with his parents, the late Mr and Mrs Matthias Schouveller, who took a homestead in Granby township. He farmed in Brighton township until 1914 when his family moved to New Ulm and later to Mankato and for the past eight years had lived in North Mankato. Matt Schouveller is survived by his widow (nee Anna Jutz), three daughters, Mrs Christ Annas and Mrs Helen Carlson of Mankato and Mrs John Kossmann of Minneapolis, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He also leaves three brothers, Mike H Schouveller of Morgan, Martin J Schouveller of St Paul and John C Schouveller of Nicollet out of a family of ten children. funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock from the Holy Rosary church of North Mankato with Rev Fr Freisleben officiating. Burial was made in the Calvary cemetery, Mankato. Relatives and friends from Nicollet who attended the funeral were John C Schouveller, Mrs F M Zins, Mr and Mrs Lambert Dorn and son, Ben Dorn, Mrs alfred Grommersch and son, Mrs Lena Zins, Mr and Mrs Martin Weisensell and son and daughters, Mr and Mrs Theo Jutz, Sr, Theo P Jutz, Nick Jutz and Mrs J H Karpen.
