DeHoogh, 85, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2006, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Jessie Janet Ras was born on January 7, 1921, in Harris, Iowa. Her parents were Fred and Alice (Winter) Ras. She grew up and attended schools in NW Iowa and in Minnesota. Jessie and Dick DeHoogh were married on September 2, 1945, in Slayton. The couple farmed in Sheldon, Iowa before moving to Worthington where Jessie worked in retail sales. The couple then farmed the Ras family farm in Fulda before returning to Worthington. Before her retirement, she was employed at the Worthington Monument Works. After retirement, Jessie and Dick moved to Sioux Falls in 1981 until they moved to Faribault in 2000. Jessie and Dick enjoyed traveling and camping throughout the continental United States. They also traveled with friends and relatives to Hawaii, Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean Islands. They found pleasure in visiting their farms near Fulda and Wilmont. She was very proud of her Dutch heritage. Most of all, Jessie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and as well as the family's newest addition, great-grandson, Vincent. Funeral services were on Thursday, January 4 at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington, MN at 1:00 p.m. Burial was in the Worthington Cemetery. Jessie is survived by her husband, Dick; two daughters, Dione Peterson, of Faribault and Devone Hasara, of Wasilla, AK; two grandsons, Dominic, of Wasilla, AK and Nicholas (Lynn) Hasara, of Faribault, three step- grandchildren, Eric (Jan) Peterson, of Sioux Falls, Kari (Scott) Werdahl, of Chaska, and Kristi (Tim) Gerry of Eau Claire; one great grandson, Vincent Hasara and seven step great-grandchildren.
