FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: March 2006 ========================================================================= Nobles County, MN Alvin Ernest Dietrich Ebeling, 95, was born on September 13, 1910, in Dent, Minnesota, the son of August and Emma Leuders Ebeling. He attended St. Paul's Parochial School in Perham, Minnesota, and Perham High School. Alvin married Eleanore Casper on March 28, 1934, in Brewster, Minnesota. After their marriage, they lived in New York Mills, Minnesota. In 1947, they moved to a farm near Brewster, Minnesota, where he farmed until his retirement in 1983. After his retirement, they moved into Brewster and he continued to help his son on the farm. In October of 2005, they moved to the Meadows in Worthington, Minnesota, and then he was admitted into the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington on January 17, 2006. Alvin was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Brewster, serving as an elder and serving on the finance and building committees. He served on the Consolidated Coop Elevator board, a rural school board, and served as the assessor of Hersey Township for nine years. Alvin was also instrumental in bringing a barbershop to Brewster. He enjoyed stained glass and playing cards. Alvin died on Sunday, February 26, 2006, at the Sunset Hospice Cottage. Alvin is survived by his wife, Eleanore, of Worthington; two sons, Al Ebeling, of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Ron (Annette) Ebeling, of Brewster, Minnesota; one daughter, Janice (Delbert) Pomerenke, of Windom, Minnesota; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren, and one brother, Eldred Ebeling, of Isanti, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and one brother. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at 10:00 a.m., at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Brewster, Minnesota, with the Rev. David McDonald officiating. Alvin grandson's, William Pomerenke, John Pomerenke, Jeff Pingeon, Greg Ebeling, Keven Weg, Kyle Pingeon, Fred Amaro, and Calvin Lowrie will serve as casket bearers. Honorary bearers will be Boyd Wood, Albert Ruckelshausen, Kenny Kluver, Earl Slocum, Vic Reineke, Loren Thallman, and Ray Berreau. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Brewster. -------------------------------------------------------------------------
