FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: September 2005 ========================================================================= Robert "Bob" Frederick Funk, 76, was born on December 10, 1928, in Worthington, Minnesota, the son of Fred and Lena Dirks Funk. He attended country school near his home. Bob then attended Worthington High School and helped out on the farm. He served in the United States Marine Corps in Korea from 1951 to 1953 as a Radio Operator. Bob married Lois Kunze on February 19, 1955, at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Worthington. They farmed near Fulda, Minnesota until their retirement in 1992. In 2001, they moved to Worthington. Bob was a charter member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church in Reading, Minnesota, and served as an Elder, Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, and Treasurer. Bob served as a board member of the Farmer's Coop Commission Company in Fulda and as Seward Township Treasurer. He also was a member of the Fulda American Legion Post 318. He loved his family, farming and his friends. Bob died on Friday, August 12, 2005, at the Minnesota Veteran's Home in Luverne, Minnesota. Bob is survived by his wife, Lois of Worthington, Minnesota; four children, Jeffrey (Susan) Funk of Fulda,Minnesota, Yolanda (James) Lowe of Lakeville, Minnesota, Janalyn (Gary) Schmitz of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Lyndon (Marsha) Funk of Fulda, Minnesota; and Leona (James) Saulsbery of Cottonwood, California. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services was held on Monday, August 15, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethel Presbyterian Church in Reading,Minnesota, with the Rev. Les Winters officiating. Casket bearers will be Dean Funk, Joel Clauson, Ron Holinka, Brian Kunze, Greg Kunze, and Dennis Aanenson.
