FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: September 2005 ========================================================================= Margaret Elizabeth Hart, the daughter of Nick and Emma Schafer Leinen, was born on May 25, 1909 in Graham Lake Twp., Nobles County, MN. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school. Margaret graduated from the Worthington High School in 1926 as the Valedictorian and then attended Mankato Teachers College in Mankato, MN. She then taught in country schools for ten years. Margaret was united in marriage to Leo B. Hart on January 4, 1938 at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Fulda, MN. After their marriage they lived on a farm near Brewster and then moved to their farm in Graham Lake Twp. in 1947. Margaret continued living on the farm after Leo passed away in November of 1995. She later moved to the Prairie House in Worthington. Margaret entered the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in February of 1999 and passed away there at the age of 96. She was a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church and a past member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brewster where she belonged to the ladies aid. She also belonged to the Graham Lakes Study Club. She enjoyed sewing, baking, cooking, reading and gardening. Survivors include her two children, James Hart and his wife, Marlene of Worthington, MN and Judith Freking of West Covina, CA.; four grandsons and their spouses, Edward and Rebekah Castle, Fred and Dioni Freking, Dominic and Regina Freking and Eric and Colleen Freking; seven great- grandchildren, Nicholas and Elizabeth Castle, William, Owen, Jackson, Jaden and Kylie Freking; two sisters, Marie Leinen, and Lorraine Schafer, sister-in-law, Betty Leinen and brother-in-law, Roy Hart and his wife, Eunice. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leo, three Brothers, Tony, Alvin and Leo Leinen and three sisters, Francis, Alice and Bernice. Funeral services were held at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church at 10:30 AM on Monday, July 25, 2005 with the Fr. Robert Horihan officiating. The organist was Mary Ann Boom. The soloist was Sheila Crowley. The pallbearers were Stanley Leckband, Jerry Langford, Don Clarke, John Stenke, Doug Schipper and Larry Leinen. Honorary pallbearers were her grandsons and great-grandchildren.
