Urban Buchheit on Saturday morning, May 24th at 9:30 o'clock. Burial was made in the Calvary cemetery with Henry Sieve, W. J. Sievers, Frank Balster Jr., Marshall Killen, Frank Lonneman and Fred Balk acting as pallbearers. Mike Hendel was born at Caledonia, Minnesota on September 27, 1871, where he attended school. He was married to Mary Connerty at Adrian where the lived until 1911, then moving on the farm four miles south of Wilmont, where he lived until his death. Make was a member of the Woodmen's Lodge and was township supervisor, a post he held for forty years. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, and baseball, enjoying them all very much. Mr. Hendel passed away at his farm home on Wednesday evening at 11:15 after a short illness, death being caused from a heart ailment. He was 81 years and 8 month old. He is survived by two daughters and four sons. They are: (Catherine) Mrs. Emil Metz, Adrian; Alphonse, Phil and Mart of Wilmont; (Lucy) Mrs. J. E. Rufener, Wahkon, Minnesota and Vic at Worthington. There are 17 grand-children and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. [Theresa] Matt Arens, Wilmont; Mrs. [Lucy (Mary)] Thompson, Horse Shoe Bend, Idaho and Mrs. Anna Neuhoff, Clearwater, Florida. Heartfelt sympathy is extended the relatives in their bereavement. Relatives from a distance attending were Mr. and Mrs. [Unknown] Hendel, of Caledonia; Mrs. [Unknown] Al Tourville and daughters and Donna Metz, St. Paul and Mr. and Mrs. [Ida Ruffing] Louis Hendel of Adrian. Card of Thanks We wish to thank relatives, neighbors and friends for the many kindnesses shown us at the time of the illness and death of our father; also for the spiritual bouquets and floral offerings.
