Peddycoart, age 76, of Watertown, South Dakota and Venice, Florida, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2007 at his residence in Venice, Florida. Funeral services with a gathering to celebrate his life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Watertown with Reverend Kim Kanitz officiating. Sandy Peterson will be the soloist accompanied by Sharon Falk. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Military Honors will be conducted by the Codington County Post 17 of the American Legion. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 4-8 p.m. at the Wight, Comes and Sogn Funeral Chapel, and on Wednesday prior to services at the church. Pallbearers will be Danny Peddycoart, Ryan Peddycoart, Christian Paschmann, Charles Nelson, Donald Nelson, Wally Heim, Curt Gustafson, Scott Gustafson and Jim Brink. Memorials may be designated to Mayo Clinic (Heart and Cancer Research Center). Raymond L. Peddycoart, the son of Rudy and Ida (Thompson) Peddycoart, was born on February 23, 1931 Dundee, Minnesota. He graduated from Fulda High School, Fulda, Minnesota. He married Vera Mae Tammeus on August 23, 1953 at Immanuel American Lutheran Church in Rural Fulda. The couple was married for 54 years. Ray was a retired Postal Worker, a proud member of the United States Navy, an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to square dance and was a member of the Watertown Golden Age Club. Most importantly, a loving, caring husband, nurturing father, and a man of God. He will sorely be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Richard and Russel. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Vera of Watertown, SD and Venice, FL; his sons, Keith and his wife, Valerie of Britt, MN, Bob and his wife, Elisabeth of Oklahoma City, OK; his grandchildren, Ryan, Danny, Claudia and Christian; and his brother Ralph. ========================================================================= Copyright Judy Clarke 2007.
