FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarks Submitted: November 2006 ========================================================================= 1932 - NORMAN JOHN SIEVE - 2006 Norman Sieve was born on September 19, 2932, in Bloom Township, Nobles County, Minnesota to George and Julia Schweitzer Sieve. He grew up near ' Wilmont and attended country school and graduated from Worthington High School in 1950. In February of 1953, Norman entered the U.S. Army and served until his honorable discharge in February of 1955. On January 24, 1959, he and Helen Lane were married at Centerville, South Dakota. Following their marriage they made their home in Wilmont, Minnesota until 1965 when they moved to their farm in Wilmont Township near St. Kilian, Minnesota. Together they lived and farmed and raised their seven children on the farm. Norman remained on the farm after Helen's death on December 30, 1995. Norman was still farming until his death on Saturday, October 14, 2006, at the Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the age of 74. He was a member of St. Kilian Catholic Church where he served as President of the Parish Council, trustee and belonged to the' Knights of Columbus. He was also a Lismore Telephone Coop board officer. Norman enjoyed bowling, gardening, watching Twins baseball, taking care of his cats and being an amateur meteoroligist. Survivors include six children and their spouses: Cindy and Phil Klomp, Maplewood, MN; Dan and Gail Sieve, Lisle, IL; Sue anf Jeff Boots, Winona, MN; Curt anf Janelle Sieve, Adrian, MN; Jerry Sieve of Wilmont, MN; and Cate and Bob Koehne of Wilmont, MN; one son-in-law Kieth Henning, Crested Butte, Co; 14 grandchildren; two sisters and their spouses: Rose Marie and Joe McGrath, Dennison, MN; and Georgene and Alfonso "Bud" Sanchez, Raymond, WA; one brother Clarence Sieve and his wife Vonnie, Lismore, MN; one brother-in-law Milton Hebig, Lismore, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Helen; one daughter Monica Henning; one brother Walter Sieve and his wife Mary; and one sister Marilyn Hebig. Funernal service were held at St. Kilian Catholic Church in St. Kilian, MN on Wednesday, October 18, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. with Roxanne Kemper amd Fr. Gerald Kosse officiating. The organist is Mary Diekmann with special music by the St. Kilian Choir. The pallbearers are Dave Sieve, Roger Sieve, Kevin Hebig, John Hebig, Alan Sieve, Gerald Sieve and Ed Sieve. Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren, Justin and Travis Henning, Annette, Shelby and Joseph Klomp, Aaron and Aubrey Sieve, Walker, Devon and Carson Boots and Tyler Mitchell, Dallas and Tony Sieve. Interment at St. Kilian Catholic Church Cemetery, St. Kilian, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church on Wednesday.
