Personal family research as of 2012.
Russel (Russell) R. Chapman was born either 1815 or 1816 at New York to Polly 
Rosebush (Rosier) and Tracy Chapman (1774-1856). Russel was married twice. 

His first wife was Nancy Marie Easton who died 1846 NY, (probably in 
childbirth). They had 5 children: Angeline Naomi (born 1831 NY, died 1833 NY), 
William Riley (born 1834 NY); Mary J (born 1836 NY); Jane Eliza (born 1840 NY) 
and Charles (born 1846 NY). 

Russel soon married Angeline Auringer on June 24, 1846 at Onondaga, NY. 
They also had 4 children: 
Ruth Ann (born 1847/48 NY - 1905 MN); 

Nancy Marie (born 1852 NY - 1929 MN), 

Susan (born 1859 NY)and 

Edgar Willis (born 1866 NY-1919 MN). 

Family found in the 1850 census living at Onondaga, Onondaga, NY: Russell 
Chapman 40, Angeline Chapman 20, William Chapman 16, Mary J Chapman 14, Jane E 
Chapman 10, Charles Chapman 4, Ruth Chapman 3. 

Found in the 1860 census at Victory, Cayuga, New York: Russel Chapman 44, 
Angeline Chapman 31, Mary Chapman 23, Ruth Chapman 12, Nancy Chapman 7, Susan 
Chapman 1.

Found in the 1870 census at Liscomb, Marshall, IA.: Russel Chapman 60 Angeline 
Chapman 40, Nancy Chapman 18, Juina (Susan) Chapman 11, Edgar Chapman 4, Isaac 
Aurunrger 63, James Aurunrger 19, Elizabeth Trepp 35.

Found in the 1880 census at Maine, Ottertail, MN: Edgar Marshall 35, Ruth 
(Chapman) Marshall 32, Warnes Marshall 14, George Marshall 12, William Marshall 
7, Adelina Marshall 4, Myrtle Marshall 8m, Russel Chapman 72 (father in law), 
Angeline Chapman 50 (mother in law), Edgar Chapman 14 (brother of Ruth), Martin 
Stahl 38.

Found in the 1895 census at Fergus Falls, Otter Tail, MN. 

Russel Chapman died either February 4th or the 6th, 1900 at Fergus Falls, Otter 
Tail, MN. He is buried at Mount Faith Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN. 

Additional Comments:
Censuses transcribed as found, obvious spelling errors not corrected. The 
censuses are not consistent when it comes to Russell's birth year.
