David Grant, who settled in the town of Paddock more than 35 years ago, died at the Menahga hospital Monday evening, April 29, of Bright's disease and bronchial trouble. Mr. Grant was born in New York on August 4, 1854, and was therefore nearly 64 years of age at the time of his death. Coming to this country when it was a wilderness he with other pioneers went through the hardships that usually fall to those who open up a new country and by hard work and ???gality became the owner of a fine improved farm where he lived for more than thirty years, selling same about two years ago. He and his wife moved to Sebeka about three years ago, when a few months later, death claimed Mrs. Grant, and the deceased's body will be laid to rest in the village cemetery by the side of his beloved helpmate. Mr Grant was widely known throughout this part of the county as well as in Paddock and he was a true and kind friend and a good neighbor. Deceased is survived by a brother John Grant, of Paddock, and a sister, Mrs. Bryan of North Dakota. The funeral services will be held in the Methodist Church at Menahga Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Submitter's Note: {This Couple David & Eunice Grant Homesteaded in Paddock Twp.
