FileFormatted by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Claire Grant ========================================================================= The following obit was in The Sebeka Review " March 11, 1927; JOHN GRANT, PIONEER PASSED AWAY _______________ JOHN GRANT, PIONEER OF PADDOCK TOWNSHIP, PASSED AWAY SUNDAY NIGHT _______________________ John Grant, for 43 years a resident of Paddock township, Ottertail county, died at his farm home Sunday night at ten o'clock. Deceased was born in Wisconsin on January 31, 1852 , later moving to Iowa and forty- three years ago moved on a homestead in Paddock township, where he and his wife have since resided. He was a man of the highest integrity and principles, highly respected by his neighbors and friends and always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He is survived by his wife, two sons and one daughter namely; Elmer and Charles of Paddock and Mrs. Nellie Keller of Jamestown, N. Dak. Deceased was a little over 75 years of age at the time of his death. Funeral services were held at the Elmer Grant home in Paddock Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock , Rev. A. L. Olney conducting the services, which were largely attended by old friends and neighbors. Submitter's Note: {My Great Grand Parents John & Jane Grant, they homesteaded inn Paddock Twp.
