Grant Occured Tuesday Morning. Funeral Held Thursday. ______________ This community was pained to learn of the death of Mrs. David H. Grant, which occured in this village on Tuesday morning at 6:45 o'clock, death resulting from a complication of diseases after a lingering illness. Eunice Clark was born in Michigan on August 12,1858, and was therefore 57 years, 3 months, and 25 days of age at the time of her death. She was married to David H. Grant in Michigan on Thanksgiving day in the year 1877, and in 1881 the young couple moved to Paddock township, Otter Tail county, where they resided almost continuously ever since. Coming to Paddock more than thirty years ago, Mr & Mrs Grant were among this community's early settlers, and like many others, they were sturdy people and made a fine farm out of the wild land they took as a homestead. They were among the community's highly respected people and the death of Mrs Grant will be mourned by all those who had the pleasure of her acquaintance. She was a woman of true Christian character and was beloved by all who knew her intimately. Mr & Mrs Grant moved to Sebeka a few weeks ago in order to enjoy a well earned rest from a lifetime of strenuous work, but Mrs Grant's health failed noticeably the last few months and no medical skill or loving care could win back her failing strength and she gradually became weaker until the Angel of Death claimed her. The funeral was held at the M.E. church Thursday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. L.W. Bates officiating, and the services were largely attended by the old friends of the deceased. Interment was made in the village cemetery. The bereaved husband has the heartfelt sympathy of his many friends in the loss of his loving wife.
