She can be found on the Ship's list: Wilhelmine Arp, Departure Date: 9 Mai 1887 (9 May 1887), Estimated Birth Year: abt 1870, Age Year: 17, Gender: weiblich (Female), Marital Status: ledig (Single), Residence: Stein, Holstein (Schleswig-Holstein). Boarded the Ship Name: Rhaetia; Captain: Karlowa; Shipping Line: Hamburg-Amerikanische Packetfahrt-Actien-Gesellschaft; Ship Type: Dampfschiff; Accommodation: Zwischendeck; Ship Flag: Deutschland; Port of Departure: Hamburg; Port of Arrival: New York. (Volume: 373-7 I, VIII A 1 Band 058 B Page: 398 Microfilm Roll Number: K_1736) From New York, she probably traveled by train to Davenport, Scott county, Iowa where many German emigrants went but not long afterwards, she traveled to Tama County, Iowa and settled down probably finding employment as a house/family servant. She met and married Ferdinand Stoltenberg on March 4, 1890 at Tama, I A, according to courthouse records at Tama, IA. She was also naturalized in 1890 at Tama, IA. The couple settled on a farm and can be found in the 1900 census between Dysart and Clutier at Oneida Township, Tama Co, IA. Four children were born here: Otto Henry (born September 1, 1889, married Dena Bruns 1921 Pipestone, MN, died December 25, 1946 Troy, Pipestone, MN). Hattie Caroline (born January 19, 1891, married Lloyd Ingman Ihlan 1916 Pipestone, MN, died August 21, 1980 Woodstock, Pipestone, MN.) Ella Catherine (born February 10, 1894, married John Henry Deick abt 1913 MN, died November 12, 1984 Minneapolis, MN). and Anna B. (born November 15, 1896, married Henry James Deick August 6, 1919 Jasper, Pipestone, MN, died November 25, 1972 Pipestone, MN). Not 100% sure but think the family may have moved to Baggs, Wyoming for a short while (about 1901) where Minnie's sister Emma Arp lived after her marriage to Hans Klinker in 1901 at Tama, IA. Other Arp, Ketelsen and Klinker people lived a while at Baggs, Wyoming trying to homestead. In 1905, the family did move to a farm near Trosky, MN. Besides farming, they also operated a hotel and livery stable at Trosky, Pipestone, MN. (Photos of this hotel are at the museum in Pipestone, MN.) Many of the same people from Baggs, WY. moved to Trosky, such as the Klinkers and Blairs, (relatives). Ferd and Minnie's son, Leroy Ferdinand Stoltenberg was born at Trosky about 1907. (Leroy married Elizabeth Margaret Blair October 8, 1930 at Hatfield, Pipestone, MN, died January 6, 1950 Hennepin, MN.) Ferdinand and Minnie's family can be found in the 1920 census at Elmer, Pipestone, MN. In 1923, Ferd and Minnie moved from Trosky to a farm south of Randall, MN. where they lived five years (until 1928) and then they moved back to Trosky, Elmer, Pipestone, MN. where they are found in the 1930 census.
