He was raised on the farm and attended the Christian Grade School in Edgerton, Minnesota. On June 16, 1958, he was united in marriage to Janet Bosch in Steen, Minnesota. Jerold worked for Hanson Silo in Luverne, Minnesota before his employment with Central Telephone Company. In June 993, he retired from the phone company and they moved from Lakeville, Minnesota to Browns Valley, Minnesota. In 1996, they moved to their present home in Edgerton. On Tuesday, March 29, 2005, "Jed" was admitted to the hospital in Casa Grande, Arizona. He was later transferred to the hospital in Rochester, Minnesota for radiation treatment. On Friday, April 22, 2005, he returned to his home in Edgerton where he remained until his death on Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at the age of 68. "Jed" was a member of the Edgerton Protestant Reformed Church, the Edgerton First Reformed Church, the Riverside Reformed Church in Bloomington, Minnesota, the Minnesota Valley Community Church in Prior Lake, Minnesota and the Sunscape Chapel in Casa Grande, Arizona. He served on numerous church boards. He served as the past president of the ITPA Telephone Company and the Pioneer Telephone Company. He served on the fire department in Casa Grande and the First Responders Paramedic Team. He also volunteered to help the special Olympics as well as other special associations, such as the Alzheimers Foundation. "Jed" also enjoyed camping, fishing, reading, and spending winters in Arizona. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Janet, Edgerton, MN; four children; Paula (Joe) Lattimore, Elysian, MN; Linda (Keith) Hahn, Lakeville, MN; David (Mary) Gunnink, Apple Valley, MN and Scott Gunnink, Lakeville, MN; four grandchildren: Anna and Tyler Hahn, Lakeville, MN; Sandra Lattimore, Longsdale, MN; Stacie (Tom) Lobitz, Norwood Young America, MN; two great- grandchildren: Keyth and Mackayla Lobitz, Norwood Young America, MN; seven brothers and sisters: Bernard (Karen) Gunnink, Hardwick, MN; Betty (Harvey) Ross, Tucson, AZ; John (Kim) Gunnink, Edgerton, MN; Duane (Cheryle) Gunnink, Caledonia, MI; Glen "Corky" (Irene) Gunnink, Edgerton, MN; Julia Ann (Larry) Hanson, Alamosa, CO and Darwin (Peggy) Gunnink, Aztec, NM. He was preceded in death by a daughter Nancy Ann Gunnink; his parents; and two brothers Arthur and Henry. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at the First Reformed Church in Edgerton.
