As a girl, she move to Tyler, Minnesota, where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Merlye Henry Raph on March 24, 1933, at Brookings, South Dakota. They lived at Brandt, South Dakota for one year and then moved to Holland, Minnesota, where she lived until moving to Pipestone in 1960. She passed away at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on Friday, May 12, 1961, reaching the age of 48 years, 9 months and 21 days. Mrs. Raph is survived by one son, Eldo of Shelby, Montana; one daughter (Carol) Mrs. Harvey Zeinstra of Pipestone; two sisters, Mrs. Emma (Alvin) (nee Albright) Biever of Tyler, Minn., and Mrs. Ann (Lafayette "Faye") Clark of Elkton, S. Dak.; two brothers, John Carl Bernard Schierholz of Lakefield, and Henry John Schierholz of Springdale, Washington, and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers William August, Otto John Albert and Julius A. Schierholz, Jr..
