There were nine members and six visitors present at the Bethel Missionary meeting held at the home of Mrs. Anna Geddes, on Thursday of last week, altho weather conditions are very unfavorable. Mrs. J. A. Hannah was leader in the absence of the appointed leader, Mrs. D. H. McDonald. The hostesses served refreshments at the close of the business session Miss Margaret Stewart and who has gone to the Sanatorium at Crookston in hopes that complete rest will restore her health which has been very poor lately. T D. Stewart, who is suffering from hardening of the arteries, is staying with his daughter, Mrs. and Edith Bryson, of Grand Forks and is undergoing medical treatment. Word was received by friends here of the death of Mrs. L. R. Hannah, of the Kenmare, N.D., at the Mayo Brothers' Hospital on Thursday evening, of heart failure. She had gone to Rochester to undergo an operation for goiter, and the doctors thought it advisable that she should rest in the hospital for a couple of weeks before undergoing the operation, but the end came Thursday evening. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband and two children, Harold, a student at Macalester, and Jean, who graduated from Kenmare high-school last term. Services were held in the Presbyterian Church in Kenmare and interment was made in the Cemetery at Kenmare. Relatives from this neighborhood to who motored over for the last sad rights were Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Hannah, Mr. and Mrs. T D Lee, and Mrs. W. J. Cumming. Word was received by friends here, that Rev. G. A. Holzinger, a former pastor of Bethel Church, had suffered another paralytic stroke. Rev. Holzinger and his wife and son and daughter, visited friends here about two years ago. Mrs. R. Carney, of Minneapolis, arrived here Thursday for a week's visit at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. T D Lee, and other friends. Mr. and Mrs. James Gilmour, Mr. Jesse Gray and Joe Gordon visited Thursday evening at the Harry Hannah home. Among those from this neighborhood who attended the Alumni reunion, Friday, at the A. C. Crookston, were Darragh Geddes and his sister, Annabelle, and Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Hannah. Mrs. James Cumming visited Mrs. Pete Olson last week. H. B. Hannah took his assessor's book to Crookston Saturday and visited between trains with his daughter, Mrs. J. D. Stephens. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bain and little Billy Olson motored to Grand Forks Saturday evening and attended the show. Clarence Hannah motored to Crookston Sunday morning. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Pack Stephen and family, of Crookston, returned with him to spend the day. William and Ellen Hannah were invited to the Harry Hannah home for Sunday supper. Mrs. Edith Geddes and children, of Grand Forks, were Sunday guests of Mrs. John Nevill's. They were present at the Children's Day program in which 37 children took part. Mrs. H.Wiedenhoefer and daughter, Eileen, were Sunday guests at the W J Nisbet home. Mr. and Mrs. James Cumming had as their Sunday guests, Mr. and Mrs. MacIvor of Grand Forks, and W J Cumming and children. Mr. and Mrs. George Lee and family visited at the Harry Hannah home Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. D. H. McDonald and Miss Ellen Hannah visited Mr. and Mrs. Pete Olson Sunday evening. There are three section gangs busy these days, laying new rails in the vicinity of Davidson. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Bryson and two children, Lucille and Lester, left Monday in their car for Williams, Minn., where they will spend a week with Mr. and Mrs. Ben Bitzer, former residents of this neighborhood. Mrs. Edward Bain is taking care of little Billy Olson and his four months old brother, for a few days, until Mrs. Olson is able to be around again. Among those who attended the Community picnic Wednesday in East Grand Forks, were Mr. and Mrs. D. H. McDonald, Mr. and Mrs. P M. Boylan, Clarence and Gerald Hannah.
