Funeral will be held at Fisher Tomorrow Afternoon. Grand Forks Elks will Attend in a Body. Robert Brownlee, a brother of Mrs. Mary Phalen of this city and well-known here, died Saturday evening at Grand forks from pneumonia. He was general agent for the J.I. Case company there and was 40 years old and unmarried. His father and mother live at Fisher in He leaves the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Harvy Webster of Wen, Mrs. D. A. Hamilton of Fisher, Mrs. Church of Conway, N.D., Miss Jenny Brownlee of Fisher, Dr. Brownlee of Devils Lake, Mrs. Wm. Rogers of Ontario and Mrs. Phalen of this city. His death occurred suddenly after three days unless and Mrs. Phalen was not aware that her brother was ill until the message announcing his death was received. The funeral will be held at the Opera house at Fisher tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock and and the Rev. Ward of this city will conduct the funeral services. Mr. Brownlee was a member of the Elks at Grand Forks, the I.O.O.F. and the Knights of Pythias. The Elks Lodge at Grand forks will attend the funeral in a body and will go from Grand Forks to Fisher on a special train. March 25, 1907 FUNERAL THIS AFTERNOON Grand Forks Paper Pays High Tribute to the Late Robert Brownlee, Born near Perth, Ontario, Funeral Held at Fisher this Afternoon. The Grand Forks Evening Times pays the following tribute to the late Robert Brownlee, who was a brother of Mrs. Mary Phalen of this city. In the death of Robert Brownlee, which occurred a few minutes after 1 o'clock Sunday morning following an illness of less than one week of la grippe which ran into pneumonia. Grand Forks lost one of her most respected and unselfish citizens. The announcement of Mr. Brownlee demise came as a thunderbolt of a clear sky, only a few of his intimate friends being aware that he was ill at all, and even they not considering his condition as being particularly serious. The deceased had been apparently in the enjoyment of his usual health up till the fore part of last week, when he complained of not feeling well. His trouble was diagnosed as la grippe. On Thursday was taken to his bed in the apartments in the Hotel Dacotah. Friday his condition became worse and on Saturday the relatives were notified and the sick man's mother and sister of Fisher, and his brother, Dr. Brownlee of Devils Lake were summoned. They were at the bedside Sunday morning when the Angel of Death stole silently in and bore away the spirit of the dying man. The deceased was unconscious for some hours prior to the final summons. Robert Brownlee, aged 41 years, is born near Perth, Ontario, and with his parents and brothers and sisters, emigrated to the West in 1880, settling at what is now Fisher, Minn. Robert was a ploy for some months and when a young man, in the store at Johnson and Stephens village of his adoption. Later he came to Grand forks and engaged in the real-estate and loan business, taking charge a collection agency for Wood and Stephens. This is about 17 or 18 years ago. He continued with Wood and Stephens for 10 years or until Mr. Wood bought into the Hotel Dacotah, and the old firm was dissolved. Mr. Brownlee then went to Devil's Lake engaged in the machinery business later taking a position as general collection agent for the J. I. Case Threshing Machine company of Racine, Wis. with from Leeds, and the two Cass Lake, Minn., and north to the Canadian border He was with this company at the time of his death and had at all times enjoyed the fullest and most complete confidence and esteem of not only his employees, but of all whom he had any business dealings. He was of warm friend to hundreds, true blue and utterly unselfish and ever ready to do a kind turn for a friend. The following gentlemen, three of whom represented that Elks and three the Knights of the Pythias, the uniformed rank of which ordered is expected will attend in a body, will officiate as the capacity of pallbearers: C W Greene, Devils Lake; C L Van Alsting, John Budge, Jas. D. Bell, Frank L. Griffin and Sam Miller, all of this city.
