Rev. Harold Erickson officiated and the Carlin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery, Lessor Township. Nina Charlotte Olson was born February 24, 1913 in Eden Township near Trail, Minnesota to parents Louis and Mary Paulson Olson. She grew up and attended rural school in Eden Township and was baptized and confirmed from Salem Lutheran Church. She was married to Obed Matson on May 8, 1943 in Crookston, Minnesota and they have resided and farmed in Hill River Township since 1945 She attended and was active in the Fosston Baptist Church for many years. On Monday, October 10, 1988, Nina Matson passed away at the Fosston Municipal Nursing home at the age of 75. She is survived by her husband, Obed, son, Jeff and wife, Karen of Fosston, daughter, Kay and husband Doug Nord of Willits, California, five grandchildren, sister Ruby Samson of McIntosh and brother Henry Olson of Duluth. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters. Special music soloists - Don Wester and Dean Lindberg, organist Jolene Anderson. Pallbearers were Reuben Brekke, Orvin Sundrud, Lloyd Roed, Sheldon Matson, Percy Johnson and Jon N.
