Killed by Falling Icicle
In St. Paul a hundred people saw a huge icicle fall from the eaves on the
north side of the chamber of commerce building just as Mrs. Eva
Jourdant was passing. Men shouted to her to look out, but they
were too late. The mass of ice struck her squarely on the top of
the head, fracturing the skull in five places, and she died at
St. Joseph's hospital. A man was chopping ice from the roof.
