I am searching for Moritz Johan Ewert b. abt.1860's in Loitz, Prussia and came to America on the Gellert immigration ship in 1883. I have found a naturalization record on him for St. Paul but can find NOTHING else anywhere regarding Moritz. Moritz married Emelia Auguste(sp?) Ziemann (May be Zimmermann or comparable spelling. Her father's name was supposedly Ferdinand Ziemann(? etc.) who also came to America when Emelia was a newborn or born shortly after arriving in America. Emelia supposedly travelled by conestoga wagon to Minn. as an infant. Maybe she was born about 1860's also. Moritz and Emelia had Otto, Albert, Lydia, Clara, Emma, Martha Ewert. Martha Ewert married to Herbert Robinson Howard (b.&bd. in Conn.) and they had Audrey (Cooley); Herbert ,Jr.; Richard (Dick); and Carole (Hurst).

Does anyone have any info on the Ewerts going back from Minn. and the time they came to America, which is probably just a few years, or did they go directly to Minn. from the ship? ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. IT'S HARD TO DO RESEARCH FROM FT. MYERS, FL. Thanks so much. Any kind of leads to information regarding any area of this family's life will be appreciated.
Barbara.

I am researching my grandfather, Charles Louis Koenig, who lived in St. Paul from 1888 until 1904. I have access to the 1895 Minnesota State Census at the Tacoma Library about an hour's drive from my house. I would like to know which roll of microfilm to check for the St. Agnes Catholic Church neighborhood as I've been going through each roll, a very painstaking task.
Thank you for your help.

My uncle Manuel Vara married Lois? sometime after WWII in St. Paul, Minnesota. I really do not know if they resided there because he is very illusive about his past. My mother said he had a son, name unknown and a daughter named Beverly. He is seventy-seven years old and I believe remarried. I think Lois was from St. Paul, Minnesota and my mother has told me that she thinks she was French-Canadian. If anyone has any information on this union, I would greatly appreciate it.

LARKIN INFORMATION NEEDED My grandmother was Florence Larkin Delaney who married my grandfather John (Jack) Delaney in Booneville, MO. and later moved to Kansas City. My father's birth certificate shows her place of birth as MN. Her sister Marie married a Ronsley in St Paul, MN in 1917 and later moved to Orange Co., CA which leads me to believe the family lived in the St. Paul area. Her parents names were Edwin Larkin and Catherine (sp?) Moran Larkin. There was one other sister, Catherine (sp?) who also lived in the Kansas City area. I'm looking for further information on this family, especially in their Irish roots.

UPDATE--Still looking for ANY information on Nicholas Miller, who was born in Germany, came to St. Paul 11 Sept 1851 and took the Oath of Allegiance in 1855. Me married Unknown, who was born in Luxembourg, Belgium.

I now believe he came to America with a brother. He had one son, Jacob Miller, born in St. Paul 20 May 1858 (unproven) and probably a daughter. He was Catholic.

He and son Jacob are listed in the city directories of 1900 and 1901 as rooming on Front Street.
