Abbott The death of Mrs. Clara M. Abbott, wife of the late W. L. Abbott, Sr., occurred at 2 o'clock on last Monday morning at her home in this city, after an illness of over a year, the last five months of which she had been confined to her bed. The laboratory rheumatism was her ailment and later an attack of some internal trouble appeared which apparently baffled all doctors who were called on the case. Deceased and was 54 years and two hours of age when death claim to its victim, and had often remarked during her illness that a presentiment told her she would die upon her birthday. A strange coincidence is the fact that death claimed her two hours after the day had passed. Throughout her long period of suffering four daughters have faithfully attended her every want and for several weeks had hardly left the bedside of their suffering mother. Both the Women's relief Corps and Daughters of Rebekahs, of which the deceased was a member, tendered kindly their assistance and for two weeks past furnished night watches, to assist the family in caring for their mother. Mrs. Abbott will be sadly missed by many friends and acquaintances as well. ========================================================================= Copyright Gary Revier 2007.
