FileFormatted by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Barbara Pierce Submitted: June 1999 ========================================================================= 1865 - The first families returning to the township after the outbreak to establish homes 1866 (March 1) - Renville County was declared an organized county with the temporary county seat located at Beaver Falls. 1866 (July 25) - Beaver Falls was surveyed in the NW quarter of Section 22 1867 (April 2) - The township was organized with the name Beaver. 1867 (April 2) - The first county seat meeting was held 1867 - In the store of C. Prignity, the first township election was held. 1867 - First real estate assessment was made. 1867 - School District No. 2 was organized 1869 - First property assessment 1872 (October 1) - A new jail was completed and used until a new courthouse was constructed and completed. 1890 (December 13) - The new courthouse was constructed and completed. 1900 (October 30) - Vote to move the courthouse (built 1890) to Olivia. 1902 (October 30) - The Olivia courthouse was completed 1902 - School District No. 2 as well as District No. 3 was consolidated into the Morton school district
