1865/1866 - Pioneers began to settle late 1865 and early 1866 

1867 (April 2) - Township was organized 

1867 (fall) - First election was held 

1873/1874 - The first Catholic Church in Renville County was erected in 
            Birch Cooley Township, St. Patrick's Catholic Church. 

1879 (about) - Railroad was projected 

1891 (April 5) - The Minnesota Valley Agricultural and Livestock 
                 Association was organized. 

1922 - The Birch Cooley Cemetery Association was formed 

1942 (December 13) - St. Patrick's Catholic Church burned to the ground.
