Hitchcock, E. J. Tremper, David Hairington, Walter G. Horton and James Moore. 1869 - First real estate assessment. 1874 - Township was organized. 1874 - First personal property assessment. 1874 (April 7) - First election was held at the home of Charles Foster. Supervisors were E. H. Pellet (chairman), C. E. Parter and Alexander Camp; Clerk, C. E. Parter; Assessor, George Taylor; Treasurer, John Wilt; Justices, Henry Gerard and Diton Grindal; Constable, A. Camp and W. C. Fleet. 1875 - First school taught by E. K. Pellot. 1876 - The Churchill Methodist Episcopal Church was established, closed 1979. 1895 (spring) - Trinity Lutheran Church of Brookfield was organized. 1899 - Village of Brookfield was started and dissolved in 1924. 1904 - The Quaker Church was disbanded. The Methodist Episcopal Church of Buffalo Lake bought and moved it. 1924 - Village of Brookfield was dissolved. 1979 - The Churchill Methodist Episcopal Church was closed. 1980 (January) - The Methodist Episcopal Church located at Church Hill closed.
