B. Perkins clerk of the meeting. Elected officers: W. H. Graham, Chairman; J. N. Chase, G. W. Colwell, and John Baker, Supervisors; J. B. Perkins, Justice of the Peace; J. J. Clark, Town Clerk; James Cummings, Treasurer; and William Perkins, Assessor. In addition to the election of the officers, it was voted that the name of the town be Hector. 1875 - Plainfield Post Office was established by J. P. Perkins, Section 30. The post office is discontinued. 1888 (May 14) - A disease was found by the Board of Health, of cattle, to be malignant catarrh and ordered them destroyed and buried 6 feet deep. Horses were found to have Glanders and some were destroyed. 1892 (September 3) - A vote on a bond for building and furnishing a town hall was held. 1905 (September 5) - The Village Council and Town Board met in an attempt to buy the town hall. 1915 (September 23) - Dr. Erickson agreed to build a building according to specifications for the town hall. 1931 (June 22) - The State Bank of Hector became insolvent. The Citizens Bank of Hutchinson was designated as depository for township funds. 1956 (October) - The Hectorville Hustlers 4-H Club was organized. 1965 (spring) - Due to heavy snow and excessive water, the bridge pilings were broken and roads were damaged.
