HARMER, SON OF WILLIAM HARMER AND ELIZABETH RUDD, DAKOTA OR RICE COUNTIES GEORGE E. HARMER "George Elmer Harmer, wellknown Waterford farmer, passed away at Northfield hospital following a cerebral hemorrhage on Saturday, March 26. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at Bierman Funeral Home. The Rev. V. E. Pinkham, rector of All Saints Episcopal church, officiated. Interment was in North Waterford cemetery with Charles Wales, William Turner, Roy Parker, Robert Bolin, Leo Eischen and Bethel Hussey as pallbearers. Mr. Harmer was born Aug. 19, 1875, in Minneapolis, the son of William and Elizabeth Rudd Harmer. He was baptized in the Episcopal faith. He attended public schools in Minneapolis where he spent his boyhood. As a young man in 1898 he moved with his parents to Northfield. Later he purchased the farm in Waterford community where he has since resided. He was married on July 1, 1903, to Myrtle Fort. She preceded him in death on March 9, 1925. In 1931 he spent the year with his parents and a sister in San Diego, Calif. For the past three years Mr. and Mrs. Harry Turner and little son have lived with him in part of his house. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Russell Howland, also a grandson, Wayne Howland of Minneapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Jane Rudd and Mrs. Ada Stranahan of Pasadena, Calif."
