HARMER, SON OF JESSE HARMER AND IDA TODD, RICE COUNTY MILO M. HARMER "Milo M. Harmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Harmer, was born July 18, 1894, in Northfield, where he spent his boyhood. He attended the public schools and graduated from highschool at the age of sixteen. One year after graduating from high school he took part Interest in the Harmer clothing store with his brother, Rollo, which partnership continued until about five years ago, when he bought his brother's half in the business. On August 26, 1915, Mr. Harmer was united in marriage to Miss Ida Marie Klingman. A year ago last August he sold the clothing store and after closing his business affairs he went on an extensive trip with his wife to California for his health. Finally they came back to LeSueur Center where Mr. Harmer again began in business. During the influenza epidemic four years ago he suffered a severe attack from which it seems he never fully recovered, so when he became ill with double pneumonia, Feb. 6, his chances for recovery were not the best. He suddenly died about 11:30 Thursday forenoon, Feb. 10. He is survived by his wife, his parents, two sisters, Essa of this city and Mrs. Martin Ellingboe of St. Paul, and two brothers, Otto Harmer of Northfield and Rollo Harmer of LeSueur Center. The funeral services were held Saturday at LeSueur Center where Rev. F. J. Tiede, Lutheran pastor, officiated. The church was crowded, and the business houses were closed during the services. The remains were brought to Northfield where private burial services were held, Rev. J. A. Rinkel officiating. Burial was in the Oaklawn cemetery." (Source: Northfield News, Vol 47 2/16/23 11:4)
