Born May 29, 1925, in Worthington, she was the daughter of Ike and Kate Lange Duitsman. She married Ray Scherer Dec. 15, 1943. She was a nurse for the Minnesota State Academy of the Deaf, Faribault, for 23 years. Surviving are her husband; two children, Shiela (Jim) Eck, Burnsville; and Steven (Lynne) Scherer, Bloomington; a brother, William (Lorraine) Duitsman, Worthington; five grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. The service was Monday at St. John's United Church of Christ, Wheeling Township, Rice County, with the Rev. Keith Weber officiating. Burial was in the St. John's Cemetery, Rice County.
