C. LAFRENZ SERVICES HELD Funeral services for Henry C. Lafrenz, R-1, Luverne, were held Sept. 25, at Zion Lutheran Church in Hardwick. The Rev. Alfred C. Schmalz officiated. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery. Engebretson Funeral Home was in charge. Active bearers were Clarence Bolland, Clarence Feikema, Verlyn Mann, Elvin Lorenson, Hans Christensen, and Randall Erdmann. Honorary bearers were Keith Connell, Walter Bones, John Block, Elmo Williamson, Vernon Cornish, and Lester Noble. Mr. Lafrenz died at his farm home Sept. 22 at the age of 63. He had been in failing health since last Febuary. Born in Germany, Sept. 14, 1910, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Lafrenz, he came to this country in 1912. The family lived in Scott County, Iowa, several years before moving to Rock County, where he attended elementary school. He was married to Martha Meins, Sioux Falls, Nov. 20, 1938. Since that time, he had been engaging in farming, specializing in the breeding of Hereford cattle. Mr. and Mrs. Lafrenz were parents of three children; Donald Lafrenz, Hardwick; Elsie Lafrenz and Dwight Lafrenz, both of Luverne. Besides his wife and children, he is survived by three grandchildren; two brothers, Hans, Luverne, and Rudolf, Valley Springs, and one sister, Mrs. Harley (Marie) Bell, Luverne. One sister, one brother and his parents preceded him in death.
