It is typed in as it appeared in the newspaper. HANS LAFRENZ Funeral services for Hans Lafrenz, 83, Luverne, were Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1987, in Bethany Lutheran Church, The Rev. Wayne Halvorson officiated. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery; Pallbearers were Donald and Dwight Lafrenz, Rex Bell, Keith and Dale Bruining, and Harold Ralfs. Honorary pallbearers were Mort Skewes, Jarvis Boisen, Vernon Noll, John McClure Jr. and Thomas Birkeland. Mr.Lafrenz died Saturday, Nov. 28, in Luverne Community Hospital. The son of Fritz and Bertha (Voss) Lafrenz was born in Germany Aug. 13, 1904, and moved to Davenport, Iowa, when he was 6. In 1919, he moved to the Trosky area. He married Etta Bruining March 9, 1937, in Rock County, They farmed in Mound township from 1938 to 1959 when they retired and moved to Luverne. Mr. Lafrenz had various jobs after retiring from farming. He was a past school board member in District 11 and a member of the advisory board of District 670. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Etta Lafrenz, Luverne; two sons, Jim and Maynard, Luverne; a daughter, Wanda (Mrs. LaVern) Kafka, Luverne; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Rudolf Lafrenz, Sioux Falls; and a sister, Marie Bell, Luverne. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister. Engebretson funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
