Submitted by: Dwight Grabitske e-mail: ddgrab@frontiernet.net Appeared in the Belle Plaine Herald on Thursday, January 26, 1911 Mrs. Matt Hally, Wife of Little More Than a Year, Taken Sunday by Death A young life came to an untimely end in the death of Mrs. Matt Hally, nee Katie Stradcutter, who passed away at 11 o'clock Sunday evening, Jan. 22, after an illness of a week. Called so unexpectedly from the midst of her family and friends, and at a time when life seemed fullest before her and its need of her the greatest, her death is the saddest that can be recorded. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. Stradcutter, and was in her 30th year. Born in Belle Plaine, all her life was spent here, and her generous, kindly nature made her a friend of all. A year and three months ago she was married to Matt Hally, and a life of added happiness seemed unfolded before her when the hand of death brought an end to earthly joys and cares. Besides her husband and parents, she leaves an infant son, a little over a week old. The funeral was held yesterday forenoon with services at St. Peter and Paul's church, Rev. Father Germain officiating and was largely attended. Among those from out of town who came to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Teitscheid, of St. Paul; Mrs. Frank Grengs and daughters Lena and Lizzie, of St. Leo; John Guenther and Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Weibler of Jordan.
