BEAN On Sunday, March 15th, at 8 p.m., occurred the death of Mrs. Thomas Bean at her home in Washington Lake township. The announcement of her sad and untimely end came as a tremendous shock to the people of this community. In the very midst of health and happiness in one brief moment she was snatched from all that was near and dear to her and all her hopes were frustrated by the icy grasp of death. The end came as the result of an appoletic stroke. Medical assistance was hastly summoned and everything that human skill could devise was resorted to in a vain attempt to save her, but it was plainly evident that her life’s forces were slowly ebbing away, her spirit taking its departure at the time above stated. Deceased was born in Ironwood, Michigan, Oct. 15, 1863. She immigrated to Green Isle in the year 1885 and was married to her surviving husband, Sept. 18, 1887. Besides her husband Mrs. Bean is survived by eight children, three sons and five daughters, all of whom were present at the interment. A large concourse of friends accompanied her remains to their last resting place, a fitting tribute to the high esteem in which she was held by all with whom she came in contact. The funeral was held from St. Brendon’s church, the Rev. J. J. Hand officiating. Among those attending the funeral from abroad were: Mr. J. W. Healey, Medford, N. Dak.; Mesdames M. A. Linton, Wm. Harding, Nels Gerald and Mr. Ed. Ryan, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. T. Whetston and Mr. adn Mrs. Daniel Whetson, Franklin; Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Murry and Thomas Bean, St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. P. O’Connell and Miss Bessie Murry, Glencoe; J. J. Fahey, Norwood. The bereaved husband and family have the undivided sympathy of the entire community. - Green Isle Record.
