BLUME. The earthly remains of Mrs. Henry Blume, mention of whose death was made last week, were laid to their final resting place on Saturday, March 7th. Services were held at the home at noon after which she was taken to New Rome for buirla in the cemetery at that place, Rev. Cornils conducting the last sad rites. Mrs. Blume, nee Augusta Maria Paulina Weckworth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gotlieb Weckworth of New Rome, was born March 24th, 1868, and was married to Henry Blume Jan. 8, 1885. Two sons were born to them and they lived only a few months. Their home was made in New Rome when they became man and wife and after three years they settled on the farm in Sibley which was their home for seventeen years. About three years ago, they moved to this place and built a comfortable home, where they had planned to spend their remaining years together. Mrs. Blume was first taken ill last July, becoming aflicted with dilation of the heart. She was up and about as usual, although very weak at times, until the past several months, when dropsy set in, and the prolonging of her life was only a question of time. All that could be done for her, was done, but proved of no aval. At the time of her death she was 44 years, 11 months and 9 days old, and her taking away is a sad blow to her husband, her aged parents, two brothers, John and Henry Weckworth, and two sisters, Miss Helen Weckworth and Mrs. M. L. Mueller. The funeral was largely attended by her host of friends, who came to pay their respects to her memory. Our sympathy is extended to the bereaved in their hour of sorrow. The pall bearers were: Wm. Schuppenhorst, Fred Gasow, Jos. Huelskamp, J. C. Deterling, W. M. Carver and W. H. Dunwell. - Hub
