She had been ill only a short time and for several days prior to her death was in a semi-conscious condition. She lived alone on the farm, not being able to get along very well with any of her children. Deceased was between 65 and 70 years of age. Her husband died about 25 years ago, since which time she has conducted her large farm with the aid of her sons. She was the mother of ten children, but four died of that dread disease, consumption, which also carried off the father. The surviving children are James, Michael and Patrick and Mrs. Pat Mack of Green Isle, Margaret of Minneapolis and Katherine of St. Thomas. The funeral was held at Green Isle yesterday morning and interment was in the Catholic cemetery at that place, under the auspices of the Ladies’ society of that parish, of which she was a member. Rev. Rant of Arlington, Rev. Cary of St. Thomas and Rev. Kahle of Le Sueur, assisted Rev. Doyle in conducting the services. Mrs. Brazil’s maiden name was Mary Ryan. She was an aunt of the Ryan boys and an old and highly respected settler of the community in which she lived. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Arlington Enterprise Thursday 7 December 1911 OBITUARY Through one of those unavoidable errors that will occur ever now and then, the death notice of Mrs. P. Brazil in these columns last week, did not appear as it should, and we are sorry that the mistake occurred. Deceased was 62 years of age and suffered a paralytic stroke which was the cause of her death. We are assured that she had no serious family trouble, and greatly regret the mention of that which had no place in an obituary, but crept into print without being noticed. No disparagement was meant by the article in question and we therefore willingly make the correction, as it is not our intention to injure the reputation of any one living or dead. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
