He had not been sick and was conscious to the end, passing away peacefully at the time stated. Deceased was born in Amt Orum, Koenigreich, Hanover, Germany, on June 20, 1837. He came to Minnesota in 1867, settling in LeSueur county where he resided for a time, then moved to Rush River, this county. Later he purchased the old Obernolte farm at New Rome and has resided there ever since. His wife preceded him to the Great Beyond April 18. 1896, and there are left to survive him two sons, four daughters and a sister. His youngest son and daughter and his sister resided with him and the others are Mrs. Paul Kusske, of Sibley; Mrs. Otto Prahl, of Princeton, Minn.; Mrs. Walter Maas, of Arlington township; and Willie Buck of Kelso. The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon from the family residence to the Evang. Luth. church in Sibley, Rev. Schreiner of that church, performing the ceremonies, and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery of that congregation beside those of his wife. The pall bearers were: Henry Benning, Sr., Frank Maas, Philip Asal, Robert Weckwerth, Fred Gierke and Henry Thoele, all friends and neighbors of the deceased. We join the many friends in extending sympathy to the afflicted family. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
