August Louis Bullert, son of J. August Bullert, of Green Isle township, died at his home on Monday, March 14th, at 2:30 o’clock a.m. He had suffered long with appendicitis, with which he was taken sick August 8th, 1903. He was then taken to New Ulm by Dr. Kanne and placed in the hospital, where he was operated on by Drs. L. A. Fritsche of New Ulm and C. W. Kanne of this place, on the 10th day of August. He returned home September 11th, 1903 greatly improved. Then on October 11th a relapse took place and he was taken back to the hospital October 13th by Dr. Kanne. On December 20th he employed Dr. Stickler of New Ulm and on the 30th he was again operated on, this time by Dr. Stickler. On February 15th, just a month before his death, he was brought back to his home, where he has been ever since. Very little hope was entertained for his complete recovery by attending relatives and friends, and although expected the news of his death was a saddening blow to them. He was a young man, industrious and honest, and his loss will be felt very keenly by all who knew him. He was born in Green Isle township August 4, 1876, and was therefore 27 years, 7 months and 10 days of age. The funeral took place yesterday. Services were held at the home at 1 o’clock, after which the remains were conveyed to the Germany Lutheran church of Green Isle township, where at 2 o’clock an impressive sermon was rendered by Rev. K Reuter. The body was then taken to the grave, followed by a long concourse of relatives and friends who will deeply mourn his loss. The burial services were there conducted by Rev. K. Reuter, and his remains laid to rest. The surviving parents and relatives of the decease have the heartfelt sympathy of all in this their hour of sadness. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
