Castens Gone to Reward Henry William Castens, for many years a highly respected resident of Jessenland township, passed away at his home on Jan. 1st, at 10 P.M. Mr. Castens had bene ailing for the past 10 weeks with Brght’s disease. he reached the age of 77 years, 8 months and 17 days. Deceased was born April 14th, 1842, in Westendorf, Hanover, Germany and came to this country with his parents at the age of 17. They made their home at Chicago, Ill. On March 23, 1873, at Proviso, Ill., he was married to Miss Louisa Schuth, who died a year later, after they moved to the present farm home in Jessenland. In July, 1875 he was married to Augusta Eschastadt. Seven children, 3 daughters and 4 sons were born to this union. They, together with their mother, are left to mourn the departure of a loving husband and father. The funeral was held Sunday at 2 o’clock P.M., with services at St. John’s Lutheran church of Arlington township. Rev. M. F. Abraham officiated.
