Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Dwight Grabitske Arlington Enterprise Thursday 14 March 1907 SUICIDE AT GAYLORD The citizens of Gaylord were shocked Monday morning when the news spred around town that the lifeless body of Fred Demm was found hanging in a smoke house. He evidently committed the deed some hours previous to the discovery of his body as life was extinct from strangulation when he was found. Mr. Damm [sic.] was an aged man and has been a resident of Gaylord for many years. We have been informed that several months ago he attempted to sommit [sic.] suicide which was narrowly averted by his wife who caught him in the act. But it seems as if he was tired of life and always watched for an opportunity to do away with himself. The Enterprise joins the many friends of the bereaved in extending sympathy. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Arlington Enterprise Thursday 21 March 1907 OBITUARY OF FRED DEMM Fred Demm wass born Sept. 4, 1855, and his age was therefore 62 years, 6 months and seven days.
