Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Dwight Grabitske --------------------------------------------------------------------- Arlington Enterprise Thursday 11 February 1909 TWO DEATHS Mrs. Gottlieb Mielke and Jonas Doerr, Jr., Answer Summons of their Master Jonas Doerr, Jr. After a lingering illness of a year and a half duration, Jonas Doerr, Jr., of Arlington township answered the last roll call on Thursday, Feb. 4th, 1909. The immediate cause of his death was Pesnicions [sic.] Anemia. His age was about 52 years and five months. He was the son of Jonas Doerr, Sr., and was born in the state of Ohio on June 5, 1856. His parents removed to this state when he was but two months old and for some time his home was in Glencoe but the mojority [sic.] of his days were spent in Sibley County. For the past ten years he reisded on his farm in Arlington township about three miles southeast of this place. He was married to Sophie Reuter about twenty-four years ago and their union was blessed with seven children of which five are living namely: Chas. Doerr of Mora; Mrs. Rudolph Mielke of Glencoe; Mrs. August Jaeger of Arlington township; Jonas K. Doerr, whereabouts unknown; and Louis, the youngest son who is still at home on the farm. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the home and at the New Rome church and the remains were conveyed to their last resting place in the Buessing cemetery in Kelso, Rev. Ewald conducting the last sad rites. The Enterprise condoles with the bereaved widow, children and other relatives in their irrepairable loss.
