Gasta is no More A Victim of Tuberculosis, He succumbs to is Ravages John C. Gasta, who has been ill for some time with that dread disease, tuberculosis, passed away at the Haupt home in West Arlington, Monday morning at 7:30, having reached the age of 35 years, 2 mos. and 28 days. His death, although not entirely unexpected, as he had been quite ill for some time, and was gradually sinking, came as a great shock to his relatives and friends. Mr. Gasta was so well known by our readers that it is hardly necessary for us to give an account of his life among them. He was a tinsmith by trade, coming here from Belle Plaine, where he was born May 10, 1876. He was married in Nov. 1904, to Miss Elizabeth Haupt, of West Arlington, and three children were born to them, viz: Clemence, Raymond and Marcellus, who are all living. He is also survived by the widow, his father, five brothers and a sister. The funeral will take place this (Thursday) morning at nine o’clock from the residence to the Catholic church, and the remains will be laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery northwest of town. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Arlington Enterprise Thursday 17 August 1911 Locals: The funeral of John Gasta took place last Thursday.
