Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Dwight Grabitske ddgrab@frontiernet.net Arlington Enterprise Thursday 23 February 1899 ALLIE GEISS Allie, the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. John Geiss, died at the home of his parents in this city Tuesday at 3 o'clock p.m. of Cerebro- spinal meningitis. He was born on Aug. 12, 1891, and was therefore 7 years 6 months and 9 days old. Allie was a bright and dutiful son and brother and liked by all who knew him and will be sadly missed by his parents brother and sisters and his many playmates. He was taken sick Saturday evening and complained of having pains in his shoulder. All that kind hearts and medical assistance could do for him was done, but all to no avail. He passed quietly away after an illness of only three days. The funeral will take place Friday from the residence at 2 p.m. and the remains will be laid to rest in the Lutheran cemetery. His school mates have contributed a sum of money to obtain flowers and will march in a body to his last resting place. [Ed. Note: Tombstone shows Alphonse Geiss; St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church records show Alphons August Geiss, son of Johann Geiss.]
