CARL GILDEMEISTER This community was shocked upon learning of the death of Mrs. Carl Gildemeister, which came to end her suffering shortly after 11 o’clock Wednesday forenoon. Her passing away was not totally unexpected, as she had been ill for some months past, yet it was rumored that she was feeling somewhat better the first of the week. Mrs. Gildemeister, whose maiden name was Miss Bertha Rathke, was born in Province Pommern, Germany, on Dec. 9th, 1848, had attained the age of 63 years, 11 months and 25 days. She came with her parents to this country settling in Dryden township, in the year of 1857. She has lived all her life in this community and has won the affection of all from her acquaintance, by her friendly spirit and cheerful disposition. Her marriage to Mr. Gildemeister occurred on June 10th, 1870, and eight children blessed their union, one daughter passing away in its infancy. She is survived by her sorrowing husband, five sons Herman, August and Charles of Dryden, Henry of this village and Charles of Money Creek; two daughters Mrs. Gustav Tabbert of Transit and Miss Alvina who is at home; and 11 grand children. - [Gaylord] Hub - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
