Martin Heleniack, an old resident, living on a farm about one and a half miles on this side of Henderson, was found dead Sunday morning in his barn, where he had evidently gone to hang himself with a rope, a washline, was still about his neck but it apparently broke and he fell among his horses. Coroner Mee of Gaylord, was notified, but he notified Dr. Theissen to make the investigation and hold an inquest if necessary. According to all indications it was a clear case of suicide, as he had been considerably worried of late over a land deal and ill health. He was 72 years of age and came to this country as a boy from Brandenburg, Germany, where he was born. he was married and had seven children, five of whom are still living, viz: Henry, Anna, Louis, Martin and Lillian. The later taught school in the Ostermann district last fall, but resigned on account of ill health. She recently underwent an operation for appendicitis, and this is thought to have added much to his burden of troubles, which he imagined too heavy for mortal man to bear and so took, what to him seemed the easiest way out. The funeral was held Wednesday and the remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery at Henderson. May his soul rest in peace is our wish. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
