The deceased was born October 22nd, 1828 in Prussen, Province of Posen, Germany, and emigrated to this country in 1873, settling soon after on a farm in Kelso township near New Rome, where he has resided ever since. He took sick about four weeks before his death and up to that time was exceptionally strong and healthy considering his age, but some internal diseases set in and the inevitable happened. He is survived by his wife and four children, three sons and one daughter. The funeral took place last Thursday and the body was interred in the German Lutheran cemetery at New Rome, Rev. Moench performing the ceremony. He had many friends here and in this vicinity with whom we join in extending sympathy to the bereaved relatives. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
