Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Dwight Grabitske --------------------------------------------------------------------- Arlington Enterprise Thursday 1 April 1909 Obituary of Mrs. C. Klinkert Died at her home in Wood Lake on Saturday evening on March 20th at 9 o’clock, Mrs. C. H. Klinkert, aged thirty-three years. All the care and love that two physicians, Drs. Moore and Beck, and an anxious household could devise and apply for her comfort and assistance were brought into play, but the suffer’s spirit took its flight to that home the Christian believes is the fulfillment of the life everlasting. She ran the journey of her life in thirty-three years. It is a path with deeds of kindness and cheer. While she has gone from the scenes, the conflicts, the sorrows and pleasures of life, she will still live in the hearts of those who knew her best. Mrs. Klinkert was born in Kelso, Sibley county, Minnesota, on the twenty-first day of December, 1875. She moved with her parents to Lyon county in the year 1880 and was confirmed in the German Lutheran church in Posen by Rev. Scheitel when fourteen years of age. Her mother died in January, 1901 in Stanley township and Anna Warnke, which was then her maiden name, helped shoulder the duties and cared for her aged father and helped to keep house for the family. In the year 1903, removed with the family to Wood Lake and was a useful member of the household until Dec. 10th, 1907, when she was married to C. H. Klinkert and became queen of her own home. In October, of the year 1908 a darling baby girl was born and lives with its bereaved father to mourn this untimely death. The funeral was held in the German Lutheran church at this place on Monday afternoon at four o’clock, Rev. Naumann officiating. The interment was made in the German Lutheran cemetery. The pall bearers: R. Schmidt, Emil Bushian, Henry Schlenner, Louis Heyer, Henry Braasch and Otto Schultz. Those from other places who attended the funeral were: Thomas Klinkert, Christ Narr, Miss Emma Narr and John Narr and wife, of Arlington; Miss Maggie Narr of St. Paul; Fred Lieske, Geo. Kuchner and son Albert of Gaylord, and Theodore Abraham and wife of Winthrop. The deceased is survived by her father, one sister and four brothers, Wm. Warnke Se., Mrs. T. Abraham of Winthrop, and W. H. Warnke, Albert and Geo. Warnke, of Wood Lake, and Henry Warnke of Flaxton, N. D. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the death stricken husband, the homeless child and the bereaved relatives. --- Wood Lake News
