Lawton Edward T. Lawton passed away at his home one and one half miles north of New Auburn on Saturday, Nov. 30, at the age of 71 years, 3 months and 22 days. He had been a sufferer with cancer for many years which sapped his vitality and was the direct cause of his demise. Deceased was born in Mount Carmel, Mich., and was married in 1866 in Wisconsin coming to Minnesota in 1868 and settling on the farm where he lived continuously until his death. He was the father of six children, five of whom are living; namely: Mrs. Lineal A. Walters, of Dodge Center, Minn.; Wellington P., of North Dakota; Wynam A. and Eunice, who reside at home, and David E. of New Auburn, Wis. The funeral services were held Tuesday at the S. D. D. church at New Alburn, which were conducted by Elder M. Harry. The text of his sermon was Cor. II, 5:1, “For we know that if the earthly house of this tabernacle be dissolved we have a building of God, a house not made with hands.” The late Edward T. Lawton was a man who was held in highest esteem by all who knew him. He was an honest, upright citizen, and his demise is deeply regretted. The many friends of the family sympathize with them in their bereavement. - Glencoe Enterprise. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
